The minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, in the presence of CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Hisham Bin Saad al-jadhi, witnessed the signing of an agreement between MAS and Biogenesis Bago, with the aim of manufacturing the foot-and-mouth fever vaccine, and establishing a specialized research center to support livestock and develop it to become a reference for the Middle East region.

The agreement was signed by the CEO of MAS Mr. Nawaf Al-Brahim, and CEO of Biogenesis Bago Dr .Esteban Turek

Under the partnership, the two parties will work to make the Kingdom the first Arab country in the Middle East to produce 200 million doses of foot and mouth vaccine, where foot and mouth disease poses a threat to the livestock sector and food security around the world.

Through the sponsorship of the agreement, the Ministry aims to expand the manufacture of multiple vaccines and medicines, train young Saudi competencies and transfer technology in this field, and make the Kingdom the main source of vaccine production for Middle Eastern countries through the factory and a research center specialized in supporting the livestock sector and food security.
